Research lines in Heritage Science
Earthquake engineering applied on historical structures, seismic vulnerability assessment of existing buildings, churches and monuments, experimental tests on historic masonry for its mechanical characterization, rehabilitation of archaeological sites (experiences at the UNESCO Site Al Baleed, Sultanate of Oman, 2011-2012).
Patent: Linear Controlled Rocking Device (LiCORD). Device aimed at controlling and ruling the out-of-plane behavior of historic masonry buildings through recentering and damped systems, exploiting the retrofitting techniques traditional for masonry structures (patent no. 102018000004026).

Seminars and academic courses on the global and local analyses of historical masonry constructions, including monumental buildings/churches and archaeological sites at the Universities of Minho (Portugal), Technical University of Aachen and Technical University of Munich (Germany), Roma La Sapienza (Italy), L’Aquila (Italy), Sassari (Italy).

Since 2016: Scientific Leader of the research unit at the University of Pisa of the project ReLUIS (Network of Laboratories of Seismic Engineering), financed by the Department of Civil Protection.
